Notes from the Terminator chronology

This story takes place in 1985.

Didja Notice?

Ben contacts someone who appears to works for an organization called Rothlake. Later issues reveal Rothlake to be a private mercenary force.

On page 2, a number of military Humvees and a military Huey helicopter are seen inside the Rothlake hangar. "Humvee" stands for High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, manufactured by AM General mostly for the U.S. military. Humvees were first put into service in 1984.

On page 3, the Rothlake chief tells the doc to get the Ithaca compound ready. "Ithaca" probably refers to the city in New York.

On page 4, we see a side view of the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor, with the twin towers of the World Trade Center in the background.

On page 7, we see the Terminator has hijacked a WKKZ news copter and is flying it over New York City in search of Dr. Fong. WKKZ is a real world FM radio station in Dublin, Georgia, about 130 miles southeast of Atlanta. The station currently features Modern Adult Contemporary music and does not appear to have a news copter. Recall that Farrow appeared to have her apartment in Atlanta, but the Terminator was never there as far as we know, we've only seen it in the state of New York.

On page 9, Farrow's car emerges from what appears to be the west end of the Lincoln Tunnel, indicating it has crossed into New Jersey.

Farrow stops the car at the abandoned Cameron High School, presumably still in New Jersey. This appears to be a fictitious school, surely named for Terminator creator, James Cameron.

Dr. Fong tells Farrow that she designed a drug that drastically increases the survival rate of melanoma patients. Melanoma is a skin cancer type that causes dark-colored tumors on the skin.

On page 11, Dr. Fong tells Farrow that no one knows about her pet project which hasn't even been published or presented yet, it's just words and numbers on paper. But then, on page 12, she mentions that her department head thinks she's crazy for believing in the theory (a way of growing artificial skin in vats to help burn victims)! So, obviously, at least the department head know about it.

On page 20, the black-clad troops are wielding rifles similar in design to the AK-47, but I wouldn't think U.S. troops would normally being using a Russian-designed weapon!
