A resistance unit in 2031 Florida faces off against Skynet Terminators and aerial HKs.

Notes from the Terminator chronology

This story takes place in the year 2031, three years after John Connor was said to have lead the human resistance to the defeat of Skynet in 2029 as stated by Kyle Reese in The Terminator. Apparently, the war did not go quite as Kyle had thought and Skynet's forces have beaten back the resistance until they are reduced to rag-tag independent squads.

Didja Know?

This story does not have an actual title as presented. I based the title of this story simply on the basis that it is a preview of what was to come in the ongoing Terminator comic book series by NOW Comics.

The writer and main artist of this preview story are the same ones who provide the Rust story of this issue.

This is a 6-page story (counting the introductory text page) which appeared in the non-Terminator comic Rust #12 a month before the debut of Terminator #1. The editor's introductory page to this story explains the setting of the upcoming series:

"The year is 2031.

It's been three years since Skynet's failed time-travel attempt to kill Sarah Connor.

During these years, John Connor's organized force of freedom fighters have been beaten back and reduced to rag-tag independent squads.

Just south of Miami, Skynet has constructed a human replication complex--or Flesh Farm. The computer's goal being to breed a new race of mankind. A race that is machine sympathetic.

A Florida based pocket of freedom fighters, nicknamed Sarah's Slammers, has pledged to destroy this complex.

With grim determination, but little in the way of firepower, they face this challenge--but it's clear from the start that this is a hopeless crusade. As determined as they are, they need help. Big-time help."

There is no dialog in this story, being told with just pictures and "sound effects".

Characters appearing or mentioned in this issue

Didja Notice?

The road the resistance members are being chased on may be Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys.
