The resistance prepares to take out a Skynet uranium mine in Niger,
Africa.
Notes from the Terminator chronology
This mini-series takes place during the future war in 2018,
shortly before the events of Salvation.
Didja Notice?
One of the retailer incentive covers of
this issue features a Terminator wielding a Westinghouse
M95A1 Phased Plasma Rifle as previously seen in
Judgment
Day and Rise of the Machines. It's also seen a
time or two in episodes of The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Notice also that the fallen sign in the bottom left
corner is a parody of the Starbucks logo, Starbooks.

The latitude/longitude coordinates given for various cities
throughout this issue are, for the most part, accurate.
However, the coordinates given for Arlit, Niger actually
correspond to Niamey, Niger, a difference of over 1,100
kilometers! It would seem that Arlit is the intended
location of the story, as the city is known for its open pit
uranium mines, just as seen in the story.
The scenes from various devastated cities around the world
on pages 1-4 are of: downtown Los Angeles, CA; the U.S.
Capitol Building in Washington D.C.; Tiananmen, a monument
in Beijing built in 1420 (the torn portrait hanging on the
outer wall is of Mao Zedong, founding father of the
communist People's Republic of China); the Taj Mahal in
Agra, India; St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, Russia; the
Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia; the Christ the
Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Al Faisaliyah
Center and Kingdom Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; the
Eiffel Tower in Paris, France; and the Detroit International
Riverfront in Detroit, MI.
On page 2, John Connor's broadcast advises that Skynet's
aerial HKs are most vulnerable at their VTOL turbofans,
recommending a direct hit from an RPG or Stinger missile.
VTOL stands for Vertical Take-Off and Landing. An RPG is a
Rocket Propelled Grenade.
The Stinger missile is the FIM-92 Stinger portable
homing surface-to-air missile developed by the U.S. in 1981
and still produced today.
On page 6, Bem tells Elena he was injured in an encounter
with a Sidewinder last week. Later in the issue, it is
revealed that Sidewinders are small, snake-like HKs that are
used by Skynet to trace human activity and report back.
On page 7, Bem teases the French Lysette about her being (or
not being) Brigitte Bardot with a medical degree. Brigitte
Bardot is a French former model, actress, singer, and
current animal rights activist.
On page 9, one of Elena's men uses a map to find a hidden
sewer entrance behind an HVAC unit.
HVAC is an abbreviation of Heating, Ventilation, Air
Conditioning.
In panel 3 of page 12, Bem's bandages are wrapped around the
wrong arm! In panel 5, they're back where they belong on the
left arm.
On page 14, Oluwa's partner in the desert sand dunes says,
"Praise Allah!" "Allah" is the Arabic word for "God".
The narration states the flashback on page 15 takes place
"two years ago". That would place it in 2016.
In the flashback sequence, John asks Kate if she's heading
back to the M.A.S.H. This stands for
Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, a term used by the U.S. Army
for it's mobile medical units in theaters of war.
On page 16, a T-600 disguises itself as Chet by wearing his
Lions jacket. This is a reference to the
Detroit Lions professional football team.
