Didja Know?
Terminator: 2029
was a 3-issue mini-series published by Dark Horse Comics. It
was followed by the sequel series
Terminator: 1984.
Didja Notice?
This issue takes place largely in
Pasadena, CA.
After sneaking up on Ben and Paige, Rico chastises them, "If
I were a six hundred, you guys would be toast!" He's
referring to a T-600 model Terminator (mostly seen in
Salvation).
In this timeline, Kyle lives at the Pasadena One Survivor
Colony, population 4,672. The colony appears to be housed
within the ruins of the
Rose Bowl on page 7. On page 23, it's implied that Kyle
is the one who established the colony there.
Before entering the colony proper, Kyle identifies himself
as, "Kyle Reese, Sergeant, Tech-Com, DN38416." He also
identifies himself with this designation in
The Terminator.
When Kyle tells his story about San Diego, he describes
himself as a maggot at the time. A maggot is the larval form
of a fly and the term is sometimes used to describe an
untrained recruit into the military.
During the telling of the San Diego story, Kyle says his
general blew up a six hundred with an R.P.G., after which
the team drove on another fifty klicks. "RPG" stands for
Rocket-Propelled Grenade. A klick is military slang for
"kilometer".
The attack on the Pasadena colony by T-800s seems to be
Kyle's first experience with these new human-looking
Terminator models. In The
Terminator, Kyle tells Sarah in 1984 about these
new models, including the one that is trying to kill her.
