Notes from the Terminator chronology
This story takes place in 1985.
Didja Notice?
On page 1, Farrow and the Terminator are driving an SUV
north on Interstate 81, north of
Binghamton, NY. Interstate
81 is a real world highway that has its southern end in
Binghamton. I can't quite tell if the SUV is a Ford Explorer
or a GMC Jimmy...it almost seems to have aspects of each
from models circa 1985. The emblem on the front grill looks
similar to the Ford emblem, but instead reads "Barts" or
"Borts"; I'm unaware of the significance of it.
On page 3, Farrow asks the Terminator if he knows about
activities of the CIA and he responds, "I have detailed
files." The protector T-800 in
Judgment Day also used
this phrase to explain he had detailed files on human
anatomy.
The Rothlake mercenaries in this issue appear to be carrying
M16 machine guns. The Terminator and Farrow also wield them
in this issue, stolen from Rothlake personnel.
After the Terminator bursts into the Rothlake compound in a
Jeep on page 8, a call goes out to the personnel
about the perimeter breach, telling all units to engage a
target driving a Rothlake Victor. I'm not sure what is meant
by "Victor"; possibly it is military slang or a nickname for
a Jeep, but I've been unable to substantiate it.
The following issue,
"Enemy of my Enemy" Part 5, reveals that the Rothlake
compound is the one located in Ithaca, NY, mentioned in
"Enemy of my Enemy" Part 2.
In this issue, we see that Rothlake is already working on
prototype Terminators in 1985.
